Week 1 assignments...say WHAT?

I am registered for classes and have my textbooks, supply lists, and first week's assignments. Ummm....that was fast! I'm excited but it's feeling really real now! The assignment list says they want the first reading assignment done before the first class. Man oh man, am I flashing back to nursing school. I guess it's time to get busy!

I am finding out that I'm SUPER lucky to be married to a medical student because we require the same stuff for our assessment class and he bought this all before his first semester (his is doctoring, mine advanced assessments). He has a nicer stethoscope than I do (borrowed...pleaseandthankyou), he has a tuning fork, really nice pen light, reflex hammer, and pocket neuro card. Thank you, dear. The one main thing left that I wish I could somehow afford:

Ophthalmoscope/Otoscope (hopefully I can borrow one of these bad boys)

This is all happening so fast and I'm SOOOOOOO excited to put my estudiante hat back on. 

Speaking of my education:

Tomorrow is International Midwives Day!!! You can read some articles here about what that means and the effort health care providers will make tomorrow to highlight global inequalities in maternal and newborn mortality and local issues in midwifery service provision. Phoenix will be having a healthcare providers for human rights march down to the capitol. Whether you're celebrating midwives or Cindo de Mayo, have a FANTASTIC Thursday.

Hopefully me and the girlie can make it down to Tempe Town Lake tonight for a run.
