It's 5 o'clock....

Yeah. In the morning. At this point in my night I'm thinking: BREAKFAST...MUST HAVE BREAKFAST.
Oh, and y   a   w   n. I'm beyond ready to crawl into bed with my little family, but alas...2 more hours. :/

Thanks to everyone who wished me a Happy Nurse's Day. You guys are awesome and I just feel thankful to do a job that I love and that is thoroughly awesome.

On that note....HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY. To my mom: you are wonderful, smart, and patient. Thanks for teaching me so many things and always being the coolest mom of all the kids I knew (trust me...many of them, to this day, still talk about how cool my mom was/is). To my mother-in-law: you are amazing, kind, and loving. I am so grateful to call you my second mother and friend! Not to mention, you raised an incredible son who I have the pleasure of calling my husband. To my sister-in-law: you are raising the sweetest boy in the world. Thanks for being so good at making babies! I can't wait to meet the next one!

To everyone else out there I love (grandmas/aunties/friends/mothering folk): you are inspiring. Thank you for being so wonderful.

I apologize in advance for sleeping through your special day.

Lazy friday.

As you saw from my last post, we were up watching Thor until 2:30ish in the morning. I got to take a nice long nap today but Christian (poor guy) had that big exam he's been studying for all week (musculoskeletal exam 1). He left for school around 10:30 AM and we met up again after he had finished at the Rose & Crown, a delightful little pub downtown in Heritage Square (right down the street from Chase Field). The med kids hang out here often, exam or no exam, to unwind, drink, sometimes eat, and drink some more. For the non-drinker they serve delish pub food and a mean glass of ice water, plus we're mainly there for the fine, medically-inclined company.

After pub chows and some visiting, we came home, and I started on my orientation class for Georgetown. I got through most of it and it helped me understand how my classes will be held. I have to say, the technology is REALLY cool, 8 of us at a time will be live streamed into a classroom with one professor. We can't be 'late' or we'll get in trouble. :) I hope this will help me stay on task and be prepared before each class because I'll actually be discussing material with real people. In the midst of my orientation, I looked over to find my support team had...well...faded on me.

Poor guy. Big test, tons of late nights this week, Thor, no nap. I asked him if he was going to sleep all night, he made one fake attempt to get up, and I decided to let them sleep. V has come out to chill with me a few times. She's such a good girl. :)

So despite my desire to have a Friday out and about, I'm here. Watching Iron Man on TV. However, Christian works really hard, had a great exam today, and if I were him I wouldn't even had made a fake attempt to get up, I would have probably cursed at me.

Two more work days (Saturday/Sunday) then quitting on Monday. :/ I'm really scared and I feel bad (plus my boss is scary). I know I'll feel better once I get it out of the way. I have tons of stuff to work on to get ready for school (immunization paperwork, physical, buying books, etc).

I hope everyone is having a fantastic Friday. Chris and I want to give a birthday shout out to the lovely Savannah who is celebrating 15 years today! Savannah, you are smart, funny, so beautiful, and have the kindest heart. I feel so lucky to be your sister-in-law and friend. We're bummed we weren't there to celebrate with you today (I hope our card came in time!) and we can't wait to see you next time we're down. We love you.

Everyone be safe and have a fantastic weekend.
Love,
Ash + V

THOR!

Really cool! Even though the superhero genre isn't for everyone, we love them and we've been anticipating this one for a while (along with Captain America!). We saw it in 3D, which was cool, but it would probably be just as good without it. First super cool movie of the summer? Possibly! Next stop...HARRY POTTER!

Goodnight all.

Week 1 assignments...say WHAT?

I am registered for classes and have my textbooks, supply lists, and first week's assignments. Ummm....that was fast! I'm excited but it's feeling really real now! The assignment list says they want the first reading assignment done before the first class. Man oh man, am I flashing back to nursing school. I guess it's time to get busy!

I am finding out that I'm SUPER lucky to be married to a medical student because we require the same stuff for our assessment class and he bought this all before his first semester (his is doctoring, mine advanced assessments). He has a nicer stethoscope than I do (borrowed...pleaseandthankyou), he has a tuning fork, really nice pen light, reflex hammer, and pocket neuro card. Thank you, dear. The one main thing left that I wish I could somehow afford:

Ophthalmoscope/Otoscope (hopefully I can borrow one of these bad boys)

This is all happening so fast and I'm SOOOOOOO excited to put my estudiante hat back on.

Speaking of my education:
Tomorrow is International Midwives Day!!! You can read some articles here about what that means and the effort health care providers will make tomorrow to highlight global inequalities in maternal and newborn mortality and local issues in midwifery service provision. Phoenix will be having a healthcare providers for human rights march down to the capitol. Whether you're celebrating midwives or Cindo de Mayo, have a FANTASTIC Thursday.

Hopefully me and the girlie can make it down to Tempe Town Lake tonight for a run.

Love,
Ash

I meeeess my seeeeester.

After a few solid days off just working around the house and ticking things off my to-do list combined with an exam week (we all know how exam weeks work around here) for Christian, I have to say it's a little lonely around here. And you know who I miss? My sister. She's a ridiculous crazy person just like me and I miss her craziness every day. We never knew how lucky we were to live one door down (literally...one bedroom door) from each other. I know you're working so hard at school and Kyle's busting it out too and we're all busy all the time, but I want you to know that I miss you and I hope you guys can come up for a visit soon.

That is all.

Love,
Ash + Viesa (who also misses her Auntie Megan very much)

OH PS: Apparently I don't know how to make regular face in pictures.

HOLY WEEKEND BATMAN!

We've been busy busy busy and Christian (smart cookie) realized that we were free this weekend and able to sneak down to Tucson. As he approaches the end of school and I approach the beginning of school, things are going to get busier and I'm really glad he thought of it. I was prepared to spend the weekend at home doing laundry (this was MUCH better).

Josh's team had an exhibition this weekend (2 games). They won both. I was impressed.

AHHH TUCSON DELICIOUSNESS.

Someone decided to snuggle with her baby dino....and her egg....

Me and my boys at J's second game.

Go Heat! Josh played great both games!!!

Dad's car in the Little Anthony's Diner car show (hooray for night shows, it's that time of year again).

LITTLE ANTHONY'S...IT'S BEEN FOREVER!

My girl, Honor, right before she totally owned me at Tic-Tac-Toe (no lie).
Pasketi for the babies.

Oh boyz.... :)

Trevor as Marilyn and Chris as Elvis. Classic.

SO glad to see her cousin Christian.

Our wedding is in print! The May issue of Tucson Lifestyle Magazine!!! They did a lovely job and we're honored to represent the museum. Can't lie....way cool.

Vies at the park, scoffing at her dad's HORSE playing abilities.

A worn out doggy is a happy doggy. And by the end of the weekend, she was one happy doggy. :)

Thanks to everyone who made this weekend great. Thanks for the congratulations about school...I continue to be thrilled. Thanks to my bestie Sarah for taking some time to catch up over coffee (I wasn't a being a creeper so I didn't get her photo for the blog). Thanks to both of our families for always feeding us/housing us/putting up with our antics/loving Viesa as much as you love us.

Next few weeks should be pure madness, plain and simple. If I can make it to the third week of May, I'll be thrilled. Chris is busting it out, I'll be busting it out. You continue to bust it out tomorrow and have a great Monday. I'll be lounging/sleeping due to work tomorrow night.

Love, LOVE, and more Tucson-renewed love,
Ash, Chris, & Viesserton
